Open a program when I visit a specific URL in Internet Explorer

I want a program to open when I visit a specific URL in Internet Explorer. I feel like there should be a way to do this using the task scheduler, but it's not working for me.

For example, when a person visits Google, I want that to trigger Adobe Photoshop to open.

If I click "Run" in task scheduler, Photoshop opens. But if I open IE and go to Google, nothing happens. What am I missing? Screenshots can be seen at the links below.

Hi and welcome to Sevenforums!

That's not how event triggers work. The log, source and Event ID refers to log events. You can view these from Event Viewer. I don't think the URLs you visit in IE are written to any event log.

Don't know any other way to do this either, sorry.

The only way the OP can have that happen is for the web site to have clickable command, embedded command, which will launch an application if said app exists on webber's harddrive. I would not like any web site to do such unless I click on said command.

Ok. Thanks everyone for the quick replies. It sounds like there isn't a way to launch it based on a URL. Could I launch another program simultaneously then when another program opens? In other words, when Internet Explorer opens, then open Photoshop also?

I guess a web master could code that into a web site; again, I prefer web site offer me a clickable hyperlink within said URL that also "tells" [via text] just what will open if I click on said hyperlink.

Launcher?

Well it's probably not exactly what you are looking for but if you use a batch file you could launch your browser and any number of programs at the same time. On the other hand you could use a program/ file launcher. I just tested launching Opera and Photoshop using a single shortcut and it worked.

Shortcut editor - command line to open Opera and Photoshop:

Launcher (the menu opens with a hotkey)
