I have been searching for a solution to this for the past 12 years 
I keep checking in the hope that someone has created a new launcher (like RocketDock) that will let me drag and drop something INTO a folder on the dock but every single one I've found just creates a shortcut on the dock.
Why is it possible to drag and drop into desktop folders but not dock folders?
