opening app on non-primary monitor

I have found that in the extended mode on my computer & I open a program on my main monitor, it will open on that monitor. If I then drag it to the extended monitor & open another program it will open on the extended monitor. So it seems that which ever monitor has the "focus" if that's the right word, any program opened will open on that monitor.

When dragging it from the main monitor to the extended one I have to maximise it as it minimises during the drag process. Once this is done any other program opens maximised on the extended one.

Your monitor specs have different resolutions, so moving from a to b is possibly why, as the max/min will be set by the last used screen??

torchwood - all monitors are identical with identical specs
ranger - your method works with every program i use except lotus 1-2-3, hence my problem.

I have just been doing some digging around and found my Lotus 1-2-3-4/ 4.0 and a user guide book by New Horizons. Doing a quick search in the book I found nothing giving guidance with dual screens.

I also found the User's Guide for Lotus 1-2-3-4/ 4.0 and once again, I found nothing on dual screen usage.

I know this information isn't very helpful to solve your problem but I did try.
If everything else works as you like it with dual screens in Windows 7; I'm guessing that the Lotus was not designed for dual screens the way you are trying to use it.

That's what I'm thinking.
It just doesn't know how to work with multiple displays. I'm at a loss on how to get it working.

I know this thread is old now but John you may be able to get the app to do what you want with NirCMD and a batch file to launch your app like this example. cmd - How can a batch file run a program and set the position and size of the window? - Stack Overflow
