Opposite of Win option 'Start up', is "Start down" imposible?

Hello,

I am trying to find software (call it software 'X') that will be used for this:

When user clicks 'Shut down' button, there should be some software (which is always open) which has a task to close application I "tell" him to close (in my case EasyPHP). It is kind like opposite of Win "Start up" option, what I want is some kind of "Start down" option.

So, user clicks 'Shut down' button, application EasyPHP closes, because I "told" program 'X' to close it, and then shut down process continiues to do what it usually does.

I hope someone can help me with this because it would mean a lot to me!

That was my 1st thought when I read this. But I guess that actually does a "forced shutdown", and perhaps that will not save necessary data?

Hello adi and welcome to Seven Forums.

Maybe I'm missing something, too, because it sounds like you want to install some kind of a program that alerts you if there are any open programs when you click on "shutdown". Doesn't the taskbar do the same thing?

Thank you very much for your help.

Reason I asked this question is because I would like to close automatically program called "EasyPHP" on my PC before sutdown because it is giving me error message from apache.exe or mysqladmin.exe like this

"the application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000142"

Not sure why? When I first exit "EasyPHP" before shutdown then there is no error message.

I hope someone can help me with this.

Had application related error messages in the past,which i managed with the following shortcut on desktop:
shutdown -s -f -t 00
never showed up again.Cant really tell if by force-closing your specified app,it will (or will not) save current work or data,hope it helps...

Do you know why is this error happening on every pc I install EasyPHP (Win 7)?
I didn't quite understand part with shortcut: do I place perhaps this 'shutdown -s -f -t 00' in notepad file and save it to desktop or something else?

Don't know if this will help you or not. This person has a Windows 7 computer running several virtual machines. He wanted a way to shut down each VM before shutting down the Windows 7 computer. He found a way by using a program called AutoHotkey.

The shortcut goes like this,right click on empty desktop area,new shortcut,location is shutdown -s -f -t 00 ,name it whatever you want,in shortcuts properties you can change its icon also,ready.Ill be around,tell us how it went.
