Solved Order of programs in boot

I would like to have my MSE boot before anything else does. Is there any way to change the order in which programs boot?? Thanks.

No, Windows 7 starts drivers, services, and boot programs in parallel.

What you're looking for is a boot scan i.e. a scan before windows loads. MSE doesnt have a boot scan feature.

So parallel is side by side rather than one after another, correct? ... and no, I'm not looking for a boot scan - I'm looking to have MSE start and load onto sys tray before other programs start and load.

Unless, having it NOT start first is not a problem. My APC battery backup software seems to want to load first and it seems to hang MSE up until it does so. It's about less than a minute before loading but everyone jumps up and down about virus software not being immediately enabled due to the risk of all the threats running around out there. I would think such a short time span would be ok but thought I'd check about changing the order just in case. Guess can't do. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts.

Technically the MSE UI you see in the systray is just the configuration engine. The virus and malware scanning engines work through a filter driver, which loads alongside the kernel. The system is technically protected almost right after boot, just as it would be with any decent antivirus product. If it's affecting the shell, you might have an issue with the APC software getting a global lock on some object that the MSE tray engine wants as well, but it wouldn't make you vulnerable due to the way antivirus products work on Windows.
