Solved Other diagnostics besides SFC for WIN 7 Pro 64 bit machine

Other than scannow /f is there anything else built into Windows that will run a system check/diagnostics ? I suspect I have created a system that may have some wires crossed as far as performance goes ?

Or..will running a repair install correct/fix any issues in my current installation...and...assuming I do it properly per the tutorial...is there any danger of loosing documents and/or files after the repair isntall ?

Wires crossed? SFC just checks your system files against a copy in stores and compares them.

A repair install will only help if there are damaged files which SFC should pick up.

There is always some danger of losing files/documents so it is always a good idea to backup, have a restore point, and an OS dvd.
