"Other Network", Duplicate Shows Up in WIFI

I am running Win7 with the old Linksys WRT54GL Router, WPA2-PSK with the most recent firmware installed. I have had no problems for many years with this setup and run a secure setup.

All of a sudden, on several machines, I notice "Other Network" appearing in the available wireless connections. It is a duplicate transmission of my network, as when I input the name and it prompts me for the password.

I have read earlier posts regarding this issue, however, none seem to offer a resolution to this problem.

Would appreciate some advise on how to deal with this....

Are you certain that "other network" is a duplicate transmission of your network? It is normal for nearby networks to show up in the "available" list. Is it possible that it is a nearby network, rather than a duplicate listing for your own network?

If you have the wifi hotspot feature turned on in your cell phone, your cell phone will show up as an available wireless network.

Not 100% certain, since I do not want to enter my passcode after entering my SSID. Uncomfortable with this showing up.

I have gone into the registry and deleted the profiles and signatures as well as deleting all network profiles-except my regular WIFI.

I long ago deleted the Iphone hotspot, which I named. Also, for security I kept it turned off except when my ISP goes down. Backup only.

Shut off the wireless on the router and turned it back on again, still there.

Wish I could clarify this... very annoying.
