URLs embedded in received messages in Outlook 2007 give the error "The system cannot find the file specified". If I cut and paste the URL into a browser, it works fine. The URL is apparently not being passed to the default browser (IceDragon). I tried making Opera the default browser, but that didn't help.

OS = Win7
Machine = Lenovo T510 with 4GB RAM

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I would imagine it depends on how well the browsers installer is,
The only third party browser I've seen that does install so outlook will use it is Chrome otherwise Internet explorer will open links...

So question is what have you done to Internet explorer that produces the error message ?

You might try reinstalling the browser with the issues and use the recommended settings in the installer.

I'll have to go play with this and see whether you're onto something. I don't like IE, so have just tried Opera and IceDragon. I'll try with Chrome, and if that doesn't work I'll break down and try IE. Those two are both on the machine.

Thanks for the suggestion.

You are correct. It works fine when Chrome is the default browser. I've submitted a question on one of the IceDragon fora. Surely I'm not the first to run into this.

Thanks!

Hi,
Yep not sure if Firefox's installer will do it too I have never tried
I do use Pale moon but again did not use the recommended install so it did not over ride ie's default.
