Upon installing Outlook as part of Office pro plus 2010 I failed to realize I no longer have a Microsoft Exchange email. I switched to an imap account hosted by GoDaddy. Upon installing I did it as an exchange account. It won't allow me to switch back. When I open Outlook it says: "
The connection to Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." I tried reinstalling Office to no avail. I am a small bootstrap startup with no funds for IT pros. Can anyone help?

Can you open outlook and go to the file tab and then account setting and open the account settings and delete the exchange account?

I cannot click on File at all. When outlook opens it gives the message, I click "OK" and opens a box asking for a Microsoft Exchange server and name. Once I click that away it closes Outlook automatically. No way to click on File.

I would uninstall outlook again and then delete all data files that it created that weren't removed by the uninstall process. The folder for Outlook in My Documents then the outlook folders that you will have to unhide hidden folders for you to get to them http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/394-hidden-files-folders-show-hide.html in:

C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook

Also make sure there is nothing in you programs folders and in common files in the programs folders where outlook was installed I would just be certain that everything was deleted before reinstalling again.

After deleting those hopefully it will start out when you reinstall outlook that it will have you create a new mail account.
