Solved Outlook 2010 - RSS Feeds Suddonly No Longer Updating

I've recently run into a problem with the RSS reader in MS Outlook 2010.

I have been using Outlook for the last 18 months or so, and have subscribed to various RSS feeds for most of that time period, without any problems.

On 6/25/2012, all of my RSS feeds suddenly stopped updating. They have been dormant since then. Initially, I was receiving an error when I tried to Send and Receive the entire mailbox, but as of today, that's no longer showing up. At this point, the S and R process "seems" to be working flawlessly, but none of my RSS feeds have updated.

I've tried some of the workarounds that I've found on the internet that were designed to fix this same problem with Outlook 2007, but none have worked.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I just tried to Send and Receive once more, and received the following error messages:


Task 'RSS Feeds' reported error (0x800C0008) : 'Synchronization to RSS Feed:"http://www.costar.com/News/RSS/RSS.aspx?m=KAN" has failed. Outlook cannot download the RSS content from <![CDATA[Kansas City Commercial Real Estate News From CoStar Group]]> because of a problem connecting to the server.'

Task 'RSS Feeds' reported error (0x800C0008) : 'Unknown Error 0x800C0008

Task 'RSS Feeds' reported error (0x800C0008) : 'Synchronization to RSS Feed:"http://reminiscensesofastockblogger.wordpress.com/feed/" has failed. Outlook cannot download the RSS content from Reminiscences of a Stockblogger because of a problem connecting to the server.'

Armed with that error code, I was able to track down this solution:

Which worked like a charm. In case anyone else is experiencing this same problem, this is how to fix it.
