Outlook AIM Nitpick

I use Outlook 2010 for my three different emails.
One is my school email (which is based in Outlook already), one is my personal email (Live), and also my old AIM email (which still receives mail).

For my school and Live account, when Outlook opens, both of those drop down menus are already open. But for some reason, my AIM account always starts off closed when opening Outlook.

Also, without adjusting any settings after adding the email accounts, I automatically get task bar notifications and the little whistle when I get a new email. But I do not for AIM.

I've tried messing with the settings for my AIM account so it will give me a notification when new mail arrives, but can't quite figure out the right settings.

Does anyone know why,
1) My AIM folder starts off closed when I open Outlook?
and
2) I can't get notifications when a new email arrives in my AIM account?

It's certainly not a huge deal (like I said, it's a nitpick), but if there's an easy solution that will have my AIM account functioning like the other two, I'd prefer it :p

Thanks!

The AIM account is listed as IMAP/SMTP
Live is MAPI, and the school is Microsoft Exchange.

As for the link pbcopter sent, Changing it to my AIM account just to see did indeed make that folder open from starting up Outlook. But I would like Outlook to keep my school as the default folder it opens to :p
