Outlook calendar on two computers?

I have a desk top and a laptop with 2007 office on them.

Is there a way of "synchronizing" the calendar back and forth between the two? I currently keep the calendar on the desk top and would like to transferor my apts. to the laptop. I can’t figure it out.

I'm not aware of any software which does that but you can Sync with Google Calendar. So the process goes like this Sync your First computer with Google Calendar then sync the sencond one with same Google Calendar so both info remains the same. Here is the link to get you started. There is a very nice software solution but it's not especially cheap. I use SYNCING.NET (I'm not shouting, they use all caps for some reason). The Home Edition will sync up to 3 computers and costs about GBP110. It works seamlessly and I think it's worth the asking price.

An indirect method like the Captain suggests will also work but, unless I'm mistaken, will require you to remember to manually initiate both sync steps. The SYNCING.NET method is set and forget - once it is set up it automatically keeps all of the designated machines in sync. It will sync tasks, contacts and notes as well if you want it to.

How can you "share" your calendar throught office? That is what I am wanting to do.

There is a lot of info on calendar sharing in Outlook's built-in help. It looks to me like the advent of Office 2010 will mean web sharing of Outlook calendars will be discontinued; you'll still be able to share them via Outlook 2007, but only if both machines have a legitimate installation of the program.

I may be wrong, and may have therefore wasted my money, but I did a lot of research on syncing Outlook across computers and SYNCING.NET seemed the best way to go. In practice, it has worked flawlessly.

One other thing to consider is to use a PDA to sync the 2 machines. If you buy a cheap 7-compatible PDA (or smartphone, for that matter) and sync it to one of your machines, you can then connect the PDA to the other and sync the info again, putting all 3 devices in sync. I imagine you can get a PDA for not much more than GBP110, so it rivals SYNCING.NET for cost, plus you have a new gadget to play with

Microsoft's Sync Toy (it's free) works for me for the two computers in my Homegroup. I simply sync the User/AppData/Outlook/local/Microsoft/Outlook folder and it works quickly and flawlessly. It syncs your entire Outlook package to include email as well as the calendar.....

You'll need to set up windows explorer to show hidden files in order to create the sync folder pairs in Sync Toy. If you're not familiar with Sync Toy I think you'll find it quite usefull.

In office, click on Calendar:
Should be a couple options on the left hand pane, 1 says "share my calendar"
click that link:

Here is where you should be able to add the user account, or simply modify the "default and Anonymous" accesses to this calendar, just give full permissions to who ever you want.

Then once you have done that you can click the "open a shared calendar" link on another outlook client.

By far the best way is using an Exchange account. But syncing the %systemdrive%\User\AppDat\Outlook\local\Microsoft\Outlook works too. Just make sure Outlook isn't running.
