Partition help!

Hi cw,

I see what you mean.

I have seen cases of unrecognised partitions/filesystems being fixed by making adjustments to the partition - more likely to work by booting the installation dvd and using that.

Also, using an imaging program seems to work - as in this case.

For those who have XP - there is another way, as outlined by cw - thanks for posting that.:D

Hi ten,

I meant when you reinstall o/s frequently - you will find those that need registry entries will have to be reinstalled .

Like your selection of apps. Send To toys , I am fond of for some odd reason, LOL. NetMeter is also my favourite.

Quite a lot of mine - and it looks like a number of yours - will run as executables anyway, even if they want to be installed the first time.

I can run quite a few straight off one of my data partitions, no matter which o/s I am booted into.

These past few months I've been perfecting my unattended XP and been playing with 7. I must have installed the OS's dozens of times.
I just keep a reg file with the personalizations for the programs that need it (the minority) and import it during unattended.
Since my start menu location is contained in the reg file, I have all my shortcuts from the get go.
