Hi all,

I have the following hard disk layout:
DRIVE1:
#Partition 1 (C): Primary, Windows 7 Installation, Storage Space, Installed software
#Partition 2 (D): Primary, Storage Space, Installed software
#Partition 3 (X): Primary, Storage Space, Installed software
When I try to change the third partition's letter using Partition Wizard, I get an error that it can't be done 'cause the drive is being used. (note: I did this for testing purpose, otherwise the installed programs woudn't function anymore)
I didn't have any other applications opened, so I explored the drive with hidden folders visible. Nothing special.

I then inserted a linux live cd, mounted partition 3 and noticed a SystemVolumeInformation folder, which probably is causing it to be handled as a system partition (although Partition Wizard nor Windows' built-in partition tool mark it as system)

I'm curious about the fact why that partition (3) has been acting like this, and why partition 2 hasn't. They both have applications installed, they both hold documents...

Can anyone show me the light? x)

Perhaps you installed something on the 3rd partition that starts at startup or is running in the back ground.

Nope, I verified this through msconfig.

Well, check to see what programs you have installed on there, and make sure they are all off.

~Lordbob
Like I said before: I already did this.

I'm not intending to actually change anything, I'm just curious.
