Solved Partition REALLY Won't Show Up

I know what the picture says but do you think that there is space missing? If so how large is it suppose to be? Now since there is a difference in the way that operating systems and hard drive manufacturers define a gb the actual usable space will be less than the advertised size but it shouldn't be very far off. My guess is that you have a 320 gb hard drive (according to the manufacturer's specs) and only 297 is usable.

I went into disk manager earlier and tried to shrink the space to make a partition and it said I had room to shrink but that failed. I believe I basically have a partition that is missing. If I'm not mistaken. That is probably correct. I'm not sure because the computer was custom built.

The drive is 320. When formatted, the size is 297. Of the 297, about 147 is free and unused.
Nothing is missing.
You need to right click C and go to the partition menu in PW and change the "unallocated space after" dropdown to the size you want to shrink C by.
Try 50000. That's 50 GB.
Look at "option 3" in the link in post 12. It should give you some major clues in how to shrink C.

Looks like you created a 53.71 GB partition, with E as a drive letter.
But it's shown as "logical" rather than primary.
I'm not sure if logical is OK for what you want to do with that partition. It may be.
I'd probably see if I could convert it to "primary" in PW.
Do NOT NOT NOT use "dynamic disks".
Then reboot and look at it in Disk Management.

I don't think you can make it primary in Windows.
You would need to do that in PW.
I'd probably delete E entirely and then recreate it again, choosing primary if given a choice.
Or maybe convert it from logical to primary in PW.
Either should work.
Did you deliberately choose "logical" when you made E?

That utility built into disk manager is very limited in functionality. It either can't or won't move certain files hence the limitation on how much the partition can be changed by. Part of the problem is that the system can be changed in only certain ways while the operating system is running hence the reason for the tool's failure. Tools like partition wizard don't have those limitations because they run outside the confines of the operating system.
