Are these out yet? Not sure what time they arrive UK time. Normally see them when I get home late evening from work.

Given last month's debacle over the visio studio update causing widespread carnage I wonder if any nightmares await us. More of a russian roultette tuesday than a patch tuesday of late! It's frustrating they no longer give advance notifications anymore (on the preceeding thursday) so we have an idea how heavy the hit will be.

Updates usually come out at 1pm on the East Coast in the United States which is roughly about an hour from now as its 12:05pm actually 55 minutes to be exact

Took the plunge. Hell of a lot of updates. 25 I think. Anxiety levels in overdrive. I don't trust these updates! But I am happy to report they seem safe. No noticeable side effects in short term use afterwards

So far I've been offered 15 updates on my work-based computer, 12 for Windows and 3 for Office. None offered yet on my gaming computer.

As always these days, they will stay uninstalled while I follow the discussion here and also await the recommendations in Susan Bradley's Patch Watch at Windows Secrets. I'll also keep half an eye on the MS community forum. You can't be too careful these days, it only takes one rogue update to screw up your system totally. and Microsoft's reputation in this respect hasn't been too good lately.

I got 34 updates this includes all of the Windows patches and for Office 2013

I had one update fail KB3035131, I Googled it and it says that it is for Windows 8. Anyone else with a similar experience.

I think the general consensus is good. I've googled around and see no horror stories. But I agree with your sentiment, the updates never end. All necessary I guess but it's so tiresome and stressful worrying if an 'update' will brick your expensive stuff. All I ever seem to do is update stuff these days. When you factor in all the other stuff like iPhones, NAS drives, Microsoft etc etc constantly pushing updates at you.

Why worry? I don't. Instead, I just wait until Saturday morning to download and install them. I have Windows updates set to just notify me when there are updates, then I download and install them when I'm ready to. By waiting until Saturday morning to download and install the updates, there is plenty of time to see reports about problematic updates. Usually, M$ pulls the problem children before Saturday and often issues a fixed version by Saturday.

KB3033929 supercedes KB3035131 so 31 is not needed and will not install

LOL! You aren't too far off. I usually run them while watching This Old Mansion House, which is almost a cartoon anymore.

Well one of those updates that were released today caused Windows Media Player to reset, my laptop restarted twice

When I launch Windows Update, I click on "More information" for each item in the list (I have 14 updates) and download and save them for the future. After I save them all, I make a Macrium Reflect boot drive image, and then go back and run Windows Update and let it do its thing.

Each and every link in Windows Update opens a browser page where it says "Oops! The page you are looking for may have a new location, or is no longer available.", so I have to Google each and every update individually for download. When I find the appropriate download page, I have to click the link after it says, "If your download does not start within 30 seconds, click here". New, unwelcome, and very annoying behavior.

Both of those updates were successful on my computer & both are shown as installed successfully.

131 did not install on mine. I now find out that if you install 131 first and then 929 they both will install. If you install 929 first only 929 will install, which is what happened to me.

My method and it worked well so far.

1. Downloaded and install all offered Updates.
2. Rebooted twice
3. Run Windows Disk Clean Up Extended.
4. Rebooted
5. Checked Windows 7 Updates again and found some more needed updates and installed them.
6. Rebooted although not requested and things are still working as they should as far as I can tell.

I've now been offered 12 updates on my gaming machine as well as 12 Windows updates and 3 Office updates on my work-based machine (it's the only one with Office installed). What seems very strange this month is that while OvenMaster says he has 14 updates, others are reporting between 25 and 34 updates which is an extraordinary number. I'm still watching and waiting.
