Hello, been having this problem for about a month. I had installed pinnacle drivers and had no problems, but one day I connected my dvc100 capture device and my computer restarted. Ever since then when I start my computer it loads the bios then hangs on black screen with the curser flashing in the top left corner, then after about 10 minutes it continues to load Windows 7 normally. Instead of turning off my pc I just put in sleep mode so as to not to deal with the 10 minute start up. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Have you tried booting from windows disk and running a startup repair http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html

You could try running a bootable version of Linux, it will load off of a flash drive and will give you an idea if its hardware problems or a windows problem.
Another option would be to try running a bootable hardware test that will also run off of a flash drive to see if your hardware is ok

SeaTools | Seagate

It all depends on if windows is starting to boot or if its failing before loading OS

Hello and thank you for your help. What I actually did was to restart with the windows dvd to go to the command prompt, once there I used bootrec.exe /fixmbr and bootrec.exe /fixboot and it appears to have fixed it.
Thank you very much for your time and effort to helping me.
