Hello everyone!

Normally, I am able to fix my computer problems but I've come to a problem that I can't figure out.

Every time I go to shutdown, it hangs on the "Shutting Down..." screen.

Also, every time I go to log out, I lose video and my monitor goes to sleep. It's almost like my graphics card goes offline after logout.

I was thinking that a process must have been running in the background that was causing the shutdown process to hang but I haven't been able to find it.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank You,
Tyler

Have you checked for spyware?
Is this a new recent problem or has this been going on for a while?
Do you have any USB drives or thumbdrives connected to your pc?
A little more info about your system would help us help you better.
First thing I would do would be to run scandisk and check the drive for any damaged files or clusters.
