Pc hangs or restarts while gaming, Problem Event Name:BlueScreen (BSOD

Often when im playing games my computer either restarts and then shows this message:WIndows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown

Or it just shows a colored screen (usually grey stripes).. Its a custom pc and i;ve taken it back many times, to no avail.
I have an AMD FX 4300 quad core proccessor and a AMD radeon hd series 7700.
I currently have windows 7, but before that i had windows 8 and still this problem would occur. Any help would be greatly appreciated Also i have already run furmark, memtest and chkdsk, all went fine.

Have you tried a stress test? See if it happens with the test.

The problem doesnt really happen after playing for a a while, but rather when im loading games and such.. For example i could start my pc and imidiatelly load a game and have it happen within five minutes.. so its doubtful

So your BSOD is caused by ntoskrnl.exe . I believe ntoskrnl.exe BSOD could be caused by boot.ini if it is erased or corrupted. Try booting into safe mode with command prompt and type in "chkdsk /f" without the quotation marks and wait a while. WARNING: This command erases/fixes any corrupted data on the HDD so some of your personal files may be erased. Then reboot normally. If the problem still occures, insert your Windows Seven CD/DVD and boot from it. Then repair your system.

chkdsk didnt find anything, i did the repair, and yet it's still happening .. Any more ideas?

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint. Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress. - H2SO4

The generic nature of the 0x124 (Arg1=0) stop code means we would have to take
the trail & error approach.

Do you have any spare parts (or another PC) to test with?
The usual suspect of this kind of BCCode is the CPU but it's often not the the case which is why we need
to test other components to rule them out as the cause.
How old are your components?


What is the make, model and age of your PSU?
Fill out this form and post back the result:

• Power Supply Calculator

Good practice, open up the case and re-seat all types of connection.

• SATA Cables (HDD/SSD/ODD).
• SATA-Power.
• Motherboard 24-pin.
• Motherboard 4/8-pin (CPU).
• Re-seat the RAM.
• Re-seat the GPU.

Make sure that every slot / cable head is free of dust or other obstruction.
Make sure that every connection is seating properly and firmly in-place.

Also have a look at the motherboard and the GPU, search for any "bad caps", bulky, leaking bloated capacitors.

• Download HWinfo and post a Screenshot of the sensors window, one at idle and another while putting load on the PC using Prime95 for the CPU side and Furmark for the GPU.
  • Before running Prime95 make sure to enable Round-off checking (see 1st post under the tutorial).
     Note

  It is not mandatory to run both tests simultaneously, although possible as long as the temperatures are under constant monitoring.

:ar: Reset the BIOS back to default:

• CLR CMOS

   Note

Write down the current value of the SATA Mode!
Its either AHCI or IDE.
After resetting the CMOS go back and verify the value for SATA Mode is what it was
when the OS was installed.

If any component is overclocked reset it back to stock speeds!

Ok so first of all i reinstalled windows 8 and the issue is still hapenning. All caps look fine and the cables are installed correctly. I uploaded the screenshots for the stability tests. And no unfortunatelly i dont have any spear parts.. As for the power supply calculator i'm sorry i just dont know enough about computers to fill it out completely :/If the issue continues i'll look into it. My PSU is from a local company not really trustworthy, but not too old(only a few months when the problem fist started happening) I also uploaded a picture of it with the model and wats.View attachment 299479

Thanks for the update, but you shouldn't have installed Windows 8 as 0x124 are a hardware issue.
I was looking for the temperature readings and you posted the summary window instead of the sensors window
please try HWinfo once more.
