I think I really screwdriver up my Pc somehow... :(

My original problem was my Pc would get BSOD seemingly randomly while running after effects. You can see the original thread here: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-...s-give-me-bsod-while-using-after-effects.html

I updated the drivers and removed the diskcryptor one. My Pc stopped booting a few days ago. It would show the windows loading logo and then BSOD in the middle of it. Windows repair was unable to repair it, no matter how many times I tried running it. I ran chkdsk from the command prompt, it checked all of my disks, only repaired my c drive once, but did nothing to fix the problem except maybe now the loading screen got a little farther this time.

I tried repairing my os with the windows 7 Cd. It ran once, but didn't have any effect. Then it just kept giving the same message as the other windows repair did. "Windows is unable to fix the problem" or something like that. So I tried doing an "upgrade" to find that I had to be at desktop to perform this...

So I found a spare hdd, plugged it in to my Pc and installed windows 7 to it, so id at least be able to move some files around in the event that I need to format my original os and start over.

I found another forum on the Microsoft website from a guy that seemed to be having the same problem as me. You can read it here: Automated Startup Repair fails. Cannot find OS Loader. - Microsoft Answers

So I followed the instructions to try to fix the boot section on your os. When that didn't work, I tried the export the bcd and rebuild it. It exported my bcd, hut then had trouble rebuilding it.... frustrated, I restarted my pc

Now my Pc doesn't recognize that my original os is on my original hdd, wont try to repair it, and wont boot except to my temporary secondary os that I made on another hard drive.

I'm getting frustrated, depressed, and desparate to get my computer working again. I have no idea what to do or where to start. Any help would be very much appreciated. I really hope I haven't torched my machine :(

Sorry to hear that. Well, we'll be here to help you get a perfect reinstall. Just follow the steps and ask back anything you need.

Okay. Sorry for the long wait til I replied. I got Windows 7 reinstalled. I have a system image i made about a month ago before my computer died. I'm having trouble restoring the image, it always throws a different error for some stupid reason. First it said the device is not connected, then it said the device is not ready. Now its saying that one of the drives needed to reimage has been excluded from the group to be imaged, even though I havent excluded any drives...

This whole thing is turning into a mess. :( Ive tried running dskchk on all my drives. All of them have been formatted for some stupid reason(I didnt knowingly format them), so now all of my back up data is in this one image and it won't cooperate. Dskchk doesn't come up with any errors and all of my drives show up in Diskmanagment but always in weird ways. Right now I have one that is labeled as "Offline" and two are labeled as "Foreign." I can import the foreign ones and the offline one I can activate, but they just show up as unallocated. And it says I have three dynamic drives that are missing... I have no idea what its doing....

If you reinstalled then there is no need to also reimage just to access needed data in the image. Simply open Disk Mgmt and mount the image as shown in this tutorial: Virtual Hard Disk - Create and Attach VHD

You can then browse into the install virtually and copy out your needed data.

But I wouldn't have my programs? :\

I thought you had reinstalled. In that case you need to reinstall the programs too.

If you follow the steps and methods given in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to install and maintain Win7 then you'll have a much better installation.

Please post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Management drive map and listings:

1. Type Disk Management in Start Search box.
2. Open Disk Mgmt. window and maximize it.
3. Type Snipping Tool in Start Search box.
4. Open Snipping Tool, choose Rectangular Snip, draw a box around full map and all listings.
5, Save Snip, attach using paper clip in Reply Box.

Tell us what is on each partition.

okay. I just formatted the drives and they worked. Before, they fluctuated from "Foreign" to "Offline" to just "Unallocated". Now I'm using VHD method to recover my files. Thanks for your help and sorry I was unclear about some things. :\
