Hello

My PC look slower than usual. Screens are slower to update and compiling software seem to take longer

I did test for malware and virus. Nothing found.
I look at cpu temp using Speedfan, look ok and around 50'C for the cpu

S.M.A.R.T. for the Hard and SSD drive look ok

What else could I do?

Martin

You may want to try Accessories > System Tools > Resource Monitor and see what is eating up the CPU cycles.

You will want to watch for any program that has a high thread/cpu count in the monitor. You can expect a high thread count for the NT Kernel and System, but you will want to look for excessive activity in other programs such as anti-virus. Look to the Average CPU column on the right.

Hello
Did go trough the Win diagnostic

Did found some error in the Event Viewer but don't know what to do with it

Also, do not know if related, My Excel sheet was not letting me access to some macro when I open it up this morning. I receive a message that I lack or missing privileges

Any truly appreciated.

Sometimes the best answer is , to back up your important files, format everything and clean install.

Can I comment? I had a similar-ish issue and solved it myself after looking in the Event Viewer, where I had many, many errors pertaining to NvStreamSvc.exe, especially around when booting up. You have a Nvidia Graphics card as well, correct? I checked your system specs in your profile.

One of the http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/220165-troubleshooting-steps-windows-7-a.html is to establish a Clean Boot for best performance and to allieviate many such issues. This will turn off all but the AV from Starting with Windows, including all Nvidia crapware which doesn't need to start with the OS at all. Only the Nvidia driver is needed, not the accompanying software. But you don't need to uninstall it which may take the driver with it, just turn it off at Startup which accomplishes the same thing.
