Pc to Smartphone sharing issue

I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installed on my laptop(from factory). Till few days ago, I could turn it into Hotspot via the stock Hotspot app & used to connect my android smartphone for normal wifi file transfers. But now that app by which I used to create hotspot is missing somehow(coz I can't find it installed apps). So, I give a try to other hotspot creators(virtual hotspot, Wifi hotspot creator setup, etc)... None of them worked. So, I created ad-hoc but soon learned that android phones don't connect to ad-hoc networks. An app called "mHotspot" shows even a problem with my drivers & asked to restore it but in vain. At last...I searched the net about file sharing methods but most of them state that phone must be connected to computer.

My laptop only has essential softwares by factory & I haven't modified any of 'em.

So please if u have that stock hotspot app(black-ish background with only two options: SSID & Password & Start button), kindly share it here.

Please help me to create wifi hotspot on my laptop so that I can connect my phone the usual way like before:crying:

first uninstall all the other hotspot applications. Try Connectify Hotspot - The Wi-Fi Software Router for Windows PCs

You can also do it without special software! Open http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/783-elevated-command-prompt.html

Now type the following command:

netsh  wlan  set  hostednetwork  mode=allow  ssid=MyNet  key=MyPassword

and press [Enter]. Replace "MyNet" with the name you'd like to use for your custom network, and "MyPassword" with a password that's a little harder to guess.
Still at the command line, type

netsh  wlan  start  hostednetwork

and press [Enter] to fire up the virtual adapter.
Now click Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre > Change Adapter Settings, right-click your internet connection and select Properties. Click the Sharing tab, check "Allow other network users to connect...", choose your virtual Wi-Fi adaptor - and that's it.
Any nearby Wi-Fi enabled device should see a new network appear with the SSID you defined above. They'll be able to connect to it using your password, and can then immediately share your internet connection.

O.K. I've done it... I needed to copy 10.3GB data from my laptop to my 32GB SD card in phone. Since windows 7 disconnects my SD card(via card reader) after every few mins & my phone was unable to obtain IP address via Wi-Fi. So I made phone the FTP server & got the data finally on my phone.
I don't know if it's been posted somewhere or not but the steps are:-
First of all, set ur phone as Wi-Fi tethering hotspot. Connect ur PC/laptop to ur phone's hotspot.(Note: Internet is not necessary, although it may b there but no problem)
1. Download "Swiftp.apk" lightweight android app. Open it & set Username & password.
2. Goto "Advanced Settings..." & set Port Number(for me its 2121). & set "Stay in folder" as "/sdcard"(without quotes). Now tick "Start FTP server".
3. Now run cmd.exe as administrator & type "ipconfig" (without quotes). Press enter & note the Gateway IP address displayed.
4. Now open ur PC browser & (carefully) type "ftp://gateway_ip_address:swiftp_port_number" (without quotes) in the address bar (for example: "ftp://192.168.43.1:2121" ) Press enter, provide Username & password u already set in Swiftp.apk, click O.K. & ur SD card will be displayed as webpage.
5. Now open it in Windows Explorer.
6. Now simply copy/paste the desired files or folders as usual way.

Note: Almost everyone might know this, but since none of them gave me this idea & I find it on my own. So I posted the procedure for other Newbees(like me). Pls. respect my opinion.
