I now have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 after I removed Windows 8.
In the Device Manager, there is the explanation point in the yellow triangle but when I try and trouble shoot it says the drivers for the device are not installed. Windows says it cant find the drivers and to check with the manufacturer but they say they don't seem to be able to find the fix. The message I get when I right click is "Location PCI bus 0 Device 3 function 0. The drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)." Says to check update driver but window for update is greyed out.
My laptop has a camera which I don't use, but it *DID* work with Win 8. Now that I use W7, there's no icon for the cam which is fine with me, but wondering if that might be the problem.
I also get a Comm error message sometimes when I try to view a .jpg file.
The camera most likely needs a driver from the OEM. Windows will download generic drivers and WHQL drivers supplied by an OEM. Apparently, Microsoft has neither.
Thanks Carwiz. My issue, however, isn't trying to get the camera working because I don't use it. What I'm trying to do is to get the yellow box with the ! in it satisfied.
