Solved Can't get wifi driver to work on Asus K55A laptop

Go to System Information you should see which BIOS Version you have there ...


Have had a look on the Asus Website they have several Updates ...


But they are unlikely to help with your issue ...

I do think we are kind of stuck here, any other solution or the best thing I can do now is just chip my PC back to Asus and get them to do me a complete restore ?

I think as you Managed to Install the 32 Bit OS .... That you should have another go at Installing the 64 Bit ...


Reckon the Image you Downloaded must have been corrupt ...

But I don't understand what would be the difference between them, in the tutorial you gave you, nothing is different if you want to install 32 bits or 64 bits, I did it correctly and it still gives me 32 bits ...

The Difference is in the Chipset yours will only work proper with the 64 Bit Version ...

If you Download the 64 Bit Version there is no way it will Install the 32 Bit Version ...

Ok, but the chipset is downloaded after the installation, and I can't open any of the files

Yes but that was for the 32 Bit Version ... We have never got the 64 Bit Version of Windows to Install ..

The Chipset controls a lot on the Motherboard with out the right Version you will never get Windows to work Proper

While you are Downloading can you Post the exact Model Number of your Laptop ...

I know you say Asus K55A but there are some letters after that ? ...

No Drivers available for Windows 7 ...

Hey Maxie, so I sent it back to Asus, I needed to pay for it but now I have window 8 back and fresh on it.
Just one more problem I'm facing when it get the time to restore my laptop.

As you must know, in window 8 there's an option where it restore the PC by itselves.

Well, when I get to that, it tells me : some files are missing your windows installation or recovery media will provide these files

I do know some people have had this issue in the past, I'm just wondering if you knew the answer to it ?

Glad you got things sorted ... Did Asus send you any Restore Discs ?


If they have not you could make an Image and have that for future Reference ...


Maybe you have a Recovery Partition ?

I will need to make a disk myself.
Window 8 this time, going back to window 7 would be a bad idea ...

I'll try to find an .iso file I could use in the futur
