pci simple communications controller issue

I've just brought a new comp and I have every driver installed (I think) except the pci simple communications controller. What the hell is this thing? So far, I haven't seen any bug on the windows but I just want to be on the safe side.

can anyone help me find the driver for this? Here're my comp specs:

the last time i heard the phrase 'pci simple communications controller' was for an oldskool dial-up modem.

i would be very surprised if you had one in your new machine though...:huh:

What's the hardware id when you go into the properties of it? I'm having a similar issue, with a Dell 5800 Microtower. Thanks to the hardware ID I know its an Intel MEI. I found the driver and went to update it, it gets almost all the way through the installation, and it fails, saying the system doesn't meet the minimum requirements... ANY ideas?
