I just opened a pdf file, (sumatra) copied a portion & pasted it to an rtf doc. Would this not work w/o another s/w installation?

For future reference: I have Office 2013 and my version of Word can open a pdf file directly and then it can be edited and saved as either a pdf or a docx file. I'm not sure which other versions of Word support this feature.

It may not be able to all elements of a pdf though.
