I moved to 7077 from 7068 and noticed a big performance hit. Is anyone experiencing this? Almost reminds me of Vista :(
Benchmarking with Geekbench and CineBench is bringing the same results but the overall system doesn't feel as snappy:
-Boot is a lot slower.
- First time you start an app is slower, even firefox could take 5 seconds, it used to take about 2 or less b4.
Almost feels like superfetch is not working properly.

How many hard drives are you using (external and internal). I had a somewhat similar problem; found out it was the external hard drive (1 tbit) causing the problem. Now I use it only when needing to backup files at the end of the day.

Hope that helps. :)

It sounds like you may have a corrupted download for windows, or a bad installation.
I am using 7077 build and it is as good as final release. :)

No problems with 7077 here.
I did with 7057 though, ended up re-installing, no problems after.
You could try re-burning the iso @ 4x or less and re-installing.

I have posted this in other places, but here are some of my stats.

First off, in the panel on the left, you can view my specs.

Second, Build 7077 64bit is the *first* build to give me nearly 70% free RAM out of 4 GB when idling. When idling with all my normal apps running I am sitting at 2.37 GB free, which equates to 59.25%. Booting this machine takes less time than any other build has thus far, and along with that I also have faster response times for all my apps (Fx, with 53 Add-ons loads in under 5 seconds, on my plain profile with no extensions it loads in under 1 second), file transfer rocks, my Internet speeds are at par (~25-30 Mbits down and 3-3.5 Mbits up) and overall stability is better.

Also, FWIW, I am running nightly builds of both Thunderbird (Shredder 3.0b3pre) and Firefox (Shiretoko 3.5b4pre) and only have issues every now and again at sites with extensive flash....

I suggest that you have something not working correctly. Although I have previously reported that this issue has been fixed, you might peruse http://www.sevenforums.com/performance-maintenance/342-show-us-your-wei-16.html#post12925 to see if you are experiencing some sort of similar issue in terms of HD performance being messed up....

I checked my WEI and it is 4.9
Only issue is slow boot about one minute and initial slow startup time for apps.
Any suggestion on how to analyze the drivers that get loaded at startup?

Thanks

I checked the ntbtlog.txt.
Here are the drivers are not being loaded.

Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\vga.sys
Loaded driver \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\NDProxy.SYS

Did not load driver \SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\srv.sys

I am not sure if NDProxy is a issue, don't know why it is attempting to load 4 times after it gets loaded once.

Thanks

Sounds like a bad build - or that your NIC is simply not supported.

Get another copy.

I compared the checksums and I think i have the correct build. Also all adapters work correctly.
BTW I am running this on a macbook pro. I didn't have any issues with past builds. Maybe I'll just wait for new build and hope the issue is fixed.

Mac virtualization software is generally good, but with the newer Win 7 builds, they might be a little finicky in certain situations. The only problem with 7077 I have is random blue screens at random times, usually media related. I think once I clicked the pause button on Media player, and it just... froze. I've never had that happen before! Task manager wouldn't even come up. Sometimes, I'll be listening to music in WMP, or be looking at pictures in a folder (not in photo viewer) with IE open, and I'll get a random BSOD. It must be torrent dependent.
