I'm still a little confused at what you're doing

I'm guessing you want to create a recovery cd or flash drive for your Macrium system image or the WinPE disk to boot to and restore your system reserved partition and C drive ?

You would do that in Macrium not with Rufus

Macrium will make the recovery usb flash drive or cd bootable for you all you have to do is verify it works after creating it.

The WinPE is very small and a 1gb flash drive will work for it so you don't need a 64 gb flash drive to do it with.

Hi Mike, Well you're not the only one a bit confused about what I am doing .

It started with the idea to do a Macri um image or backup of my PC as I have never done that before. Then members warned me to do a CD/DVD or FlashUSB stick before to be on the safe side if I mess it up ( which is very likely ).

Then I found out that my WMP is not correctly set ( have to set that straight as well, but as you suggested better in another thread), this is confusing enough as it is.

Then it seems that this Toshiba external Harddrive needs some things doing to it before I can use it.

Then someone ( I think you ) suggested using Rufus, which is not bad I think and I want to learn to use as well, and now I am and stuck on some OSI I have to fill in, that does not wanna do it. as you can see in my last screensaver.

Okay all is good just forget I mentioned Rufus

Just so you know a 64gb flash drive is not needed and will be wasted of 63gb's

1gb or 4gb flash drive will work fine the actual system image does not go on it only the small WinPE recovery utility iso which Macrium will download to it and make it bootable for you without doing much at all.

Just open Macrium
On the very top left click on the cd icon it will say Make a recovery media...
I believe CD is selected by default so you'll need to check the box for Flash drive instead but I would personally do both for a backup
The default settings are good so you don't have to change any thing there

The flash drive does have to be formatted as ntfs though so do that before you open Macrium,

Insert the flash drive and click the Start button and click on Computer,
If you see the flash drive listed right click it and click on Format,

It might say Fat32 if it does there will be a drop down next to it to select ntfs then just click on Next/ okay the warning to delete any existing content on it hopefully you don't need anything on it

Once the formatting is done open Macrium and proceed
You can make the recovery media without actually having a system image created so no worries there you can fix WMP later without effecting the recovery media.

Well to guess I would say the format of the flash drive or you didn't point rufus to whs's iso file you possible downloaded ?

Windows Home Service ISO File? Never heard of that I will look it up and see what it is and where it is

WHS's tutorial offers the WinPE iso to download which you could use it and Rufus to make the usb flash drive bootable

But the download time is overstated it does not take that long to download it inside Macrium

The production of the WinPE recovery CD (which is highly recommended) may take up to 3 hours because Macrium needs to download the 1.7GB WAIK (Windows Application Installation Kit). For your convenience I have uploaded a ready made .iso of the WinPE recovery disc. That can be downloaded in appr. 8 minutes which clearly beats the WAIK download. Once you downloaded and unzipped the folder, you can burn it directly to a CD with e.g. ImgBurn.
