I know this isn't a server forum, but I have noted some rather savvy people here, so I'm hoping someone might be able to help solve my problem.
My network is a mixed environment of Server 2008r2 and Server 2003 Initial Release. I wanted to set up DFS shares so folks at branches could move between them and still have local access to their files, but it seems that's not possible since I can't get live replication of the folders due to the fact that 2k3 Initial Release doesn't support DFSR and 2k8r2 doesn't support FRS. Sadly I discovered the latter after attempting to set up FRS for live replication.
I've done everything I can find reference to to remove any references to the FRS replica sets, but still have one that persists and is keeping me from running DFSR in the one place I can, which is our main office where both servers are 2k8r2.
I can provide more information if needed, but I'll start here and hope someone with server experience can offer some tips where to look for that persistent nagging entry wherever it may be.
Thanks
Joe
