Hi there. I have a 19" LCD Monitor, running on 1280x1024 resolution. Have been trying the right combination for displaying pictures. Thumbnails of my picture folder are distorted, so are the displayed pictures and so is the photo screen saver. Background images are perfect. I didn't have that problem in XP. It seems like the height is not tall enough. They say that resolution has to do with pixels. I've tried at lower resolution; it makes no difference. How can you adjust the height or shrink the width? This is puzzling me. Thanks in advance for your tips.

How are they distorted? I have a 19" LCD monitor set at 1280x1024, and nothing is distorted.

Thanks for the reply, Jacee. The pix seem horizontally wider than they should be, or the height narrower. I have tried other picture viewers; same results. The aspect ratio is off.
The background pix of Windows 7 are perfect and sharp.
In doing some more research, the ones that are distorted are less than 1024 pixels. I am still experimenting. I love Windows 7, but that's the only thing that has stumped me.

Thanks for the suggestion.
What I found out is that 1280x1024 does not provide the optimal aspect ratio.
I set the resolution to 1280x720, like in XP, and the pictures are not distorted. The drawback is that I lost the clarity of 1280x1024. Guess one of these days I'll update my video card and my monitor. Thanks.
