pinned items vanished on start menu

The functionality is not disabled, I can pin new items, but existing items disappeared, they vanished after updating nvidia display drivers and rebooting.

If I repin the same items they appear but with (2) appended to the name indicating they a duplicate pin.

Any ideas?

Hello Chrysalis,

It sounds like your Start Menu pinned area is corrupted. If you like, you can use the tutorial below to reset it to see if that clear this issue. You'll need to pin all your items again afterwards though.

yeah I came to same conclusion, the items do exist here.

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu

They just dont show, so I will do what you said.
