Why do you want 3 hard drives in the box? I can understand the SSD and a mechanical drive...but why 2 storage drives? Why not just a single 1TB or 2TB Western Digital Caviar Black?

And I don't want the green serie, it's slower.

I'm not on an anti- LiteOn crusade, but I've had a couple of drives from them die early. I have had good luck with Samsung, Asus, LG, etc. (At least in the USA, they may not cost more.)

The 5970 is powerful (and expensive), but it's a Crossfire setup on a single card. I haven't played with Crossfire in a couple of years, but at the time I didn't regard ATI's driver support for it as robust. Maybe they've gotten better.

Switch the 5970 to a crossfire 5870 setup?
I can change the drive to a samsung, no problem.
Doesn't it seem kinda weird that the crossfire setup don't support a single card?
I mean, do you HAVE to use a crossfire setup?

The card you listed in post #85 is going to be tough to beat no matter how many cards you cram in there.

Yes, and I'm happy with that card, and I only want a single one, not a crossfire. But the guy above you said that a crossfire setup with a single card is a problem? I have never heard of anyone having problems with that before? So is it true?

I would have to bow to the opinion of others on this. The last time I went the multiple-video card route was with a pair of Voodoo2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia in SLI. :shock:

(As a guess, based on their popularity, I think SLI/Crossfire generally works pretty well these days. See my previous comment, though.)

Yeah I'm gonna go for one 5970 card, it's cheaper rhan 2x5870 and that way I will have the option to crossfire with another 5970 in the future if I need too. Thanks again for your help, will surely rep you when I can, I think I've already done it though
