Please Help: BSOD Win7 x64

Getting various BSODs at entirely random times, no pattern to go by... about 90% of them do not write a dump file to disk.

Windows 7 64bit - OEM
Entire system is less than 3 months old
Multiple Fresh Re-Installs, always getting BSODs.

SFC /SCANNOW - Complete without Errors.
CHKDSK /F - Complete without Errors.
MEMTEST86 - 8 Passes Completed without Errors.

These were all related to your HD,



KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.


I would start by running a chkdsk

A- CHKDSK /R /F:

Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt.

Do this for each hard drive on your system.

When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter.

Then reboot and let the test run.

It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors.

See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.


B- Elevated Command Prompt:

Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)

At the top of the Search Box, right click on Cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator"


C-CHKDSK LogFile:

Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter

Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.

Double click on the Source column header.

Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry (wininit for Win7) (winlogon for XP).

Copy/paste the results into your next post.

Thanks, I'll have to run the CHKDSK again.

I ran CHKDSK /F /R last night but the Event Viewer only shows a CHKDSK log from the June 3rd and it says it was run without /F, so I will run it again and post back with the results from Event Viewer.

Edit: Do you know any fix for this Iexplorer.exe error I get every time I try to open multiple tabs/windows and sometimes even just my home page?

Ok HD came up fine. Next delete the current pagefile by setting it to zero. then reboot and reset to whatever size it was and reboot.

Ok, so pagefile has been reset.


Prior to doing so, I got a BSoD that created a dump file and initialized the drive, but never completed the writing to disk. So there is no dump file for that BSOD. It stated that a Driver was attempting to corrupt the system and something about the top of the kernal stack.


After a good boot in, I did the pagefile reset, restarted, set pagefile back to its previous values and restarted again. During restart, I got a BSOD with a x07E Stop code but it didn't write to disk either.


This is what I got when I loaded to desktop...


Edit: dxdiag shows error in located Diplay Device. Scanned system with Driver Detective and only 1 of my ATI Radeon 5770s was showing up, reinstalled Drivers and restarted pc. BSOD during boot up, "display driver failed to initialize" - restarted with Last Known Good Config and desktop loaded as if the Error shown in the Screenshot never happened. dxdiag shows all good, Driver Detective still only shows 1 Graphics Card driver, when it used to show 2.


Edit #2: I spoke too soon. Immediately after my above Edit, I got a BSOD with KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR and during restart it BSOD with UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME. Once more during restart I got a new BSOD I never seen before, attached a snapshot.

I feel like I am watching my PC Restart more than I see my Desktop...
