Please help to find the cause of this problem

Hi everyone I really need your help to solve my problem. Today while I was working my laptop made some soft noises and after that it just hanged. I pressed down the power button to shut down the laptop. Then when I restart I run into the same problem with in 5 minute again had to shut down the laptop by pressing down the power button. Infact in the last hour I had almost done this 5 or 6 time. Every time the laptop makes some noise and then it hangs. I suspected a hard drive failure so run the seagate software sea tool for windows, which passed both S.M.A.R.T check and short drive self test. Also I run into 2 BSOD during this process (the minidump folder is empty) and after the laptop restart I get a black screen with the massage “ No bootable device, insert boot disk and press any key” so again I pressed the power button to shut it down. So what is the problem? Please help me to solve this problem I am totally unable to use the laptop more than 10 – 15 minute at the moment.

Gautam7, My first cut and opinion is that your hard disk has either gone south or about to. Of course you have plenty of backups so replacement of the hard disk and re-install of the OS should be fairly easy.

Ok today spent some more time with the laptop and noticed something. Firstly the laptop operates normally about 30 to 40 minute and then starts the problem and once the problem is started then after an immediate restart it keep happening with in 5 to 10 minute. Now i think its a heat related problem because right now i am using the laptop for about 3 hour with a laptop cooling pad and still no sign of problem. In this time i made all the back up and run the hard drive self test again it passed the test. Also during the time when the laptop is showing the problem i measured the temperature of the system with SIW. It sowed that core 0 is having temperature 78 degree Celsius where as core 1 is having temperature 82 degree Celsius. I don't know if this temperature normal? Today here room temperature is 34 degree Celsius with humidity 84%. Is there a way to confirm what is happening?

Gautum7, it could possible be a fan speed problem in that it slows down and allowing the cpu to heat up.

Noises are different for different causes and soft noises can be normal in some cases.

I assume that you have used compressed air and cleaned out the fans.?

Thanks for the reply rick. I have not cleaned the fan. Actually i have never opened the case so i am considering to take the laptop to some repairing shop. Thanks again........
