Solved Port forwarding not working...

i do not understand.....is it easy to remove the modem and use the other router?
The router (netgear) wich makes our wifi was pretty expensive.

And there is a version of the modem i linked with wifi, and there is one without wifi.
dont know what version we have.
it also doesnt support wifi N anyway....

If you look underneath the modem there will be a label on it and it will ever have the evm 3200 on it or the evw3200 Wi-fi or wireless disaplyed on it please confirm which one you have and please let us know?

Its the Evw320b, and a google search found out its the wifi model.

i also recall we bought that second router/access point because that ubee thing only got us problems like wifi disconnects ect.
I would love the camera to work without removing the second netgear router. but that netgear router cant have the internet cable plugged in. It cant work on its own unfortunatly.

edit: doing more google searches gives me that im not the only one who had wifi complaints. its simply a crap modem probaly ^^ i do not wish to use the wifi of that modem. i'd rather have good working wifi then a camera working(wich will suffer from wifi disconnects as well)

I also do not wish for a solution to that wifi not working problem on the modem...lets keep ontopic about the camera

so reading last posts on page 2....i have the idea i need to plug a ethernet cable into the modem, login into the modem menu, then also set port forwarding up there? i looked at screenshots i found online but it doesnt seem like there is a option for port forwarding in that crappy modem.

I'm sorry but have you even read the posts I have made?
You can not remove the Modem/Router combo. That is what give you the connection to the internet through your ISP.

You can still use the Netgear by following my instructions in 2 different posts. Again Do NOT Use the WAN/Internet port of the netgear router. Turn Off the DHCP in the netgear router. Then configure Port Forwarding on the Modem Router box.

1. I am not asking you to remove the second router judging by this answer:

You had a possible signal issue with devices maybe.

2. There is another way to avoid having to port forward both routers and that is to connect the modem/router to the netgear by it's Lan port rather than the WAN or internet port and only have to do the forwarding using the ubee.

3. first we need to check you have forwarding on your ubee which i am sure it will have so if disconnect from the netgear router and connect an ethernet cable to your computer ethernet port and the other end to one of the ubee's Lan ports.

Open a browser and navigate to the ubee's ip address usually 192.168.1.1 but may be different on your router and login with credentials and then click on gateway tab and look down at the headings you should see a heading forwarding. Please confirm you have this. Please open up forwarding and copy the portforwarding details that are in the netgear to here.

Go to DDNS section and open it up select no-ip.org from the drop down menu and enter your username and password for no-ip.org and any other details asked for.

On the same page there will be a heading DHCP server please click on this and the page will display your DHCP server and you will see a heading DHCP starting address if this is 192.168.1.2 please change this to 192.168.1.3 click apply or save and reboot router.

Please let us know when you have done these steps.

it does ask for a external IP and port as well.
I have no idea what this means. in the netgear all i had to set was IP port ect. not an internal and external ip and port ect.
was possible after all. also disabled DHCP on the netgear router.
But accessing the WAN IP :97 still doesnt work.....time out.

I do have port forwarding enabled to same host and IP on both the router and modem now.

I have did as you asked but cant do the ddns. It only allows from dyndns.org, or it can be disabled...
There were also no different settings at that page.

Ok as I stated before you have to set either the modem into Bridge Ethernet mode, if it has such an option, or set the netgear as just a switch with wireless. you will never get it to work with both routers being Routers.

Ive seen a bridging menu on the modem...option: enable or disable and a couple of empty fields under that.
I have no idea what to enter in those empty fields.

Did you set the DHCP starting address?

Enter your no-ip.org hostname here if it allows it as you cannot input your external ip address as it is dynamic or enter router ip address.

Errrm i could only set dyndns.org in the ddns menu....or i could leave it disabled.
And there were empty fields under that. Probaly some dyndns settings.

Also said that in other reply i see sorry for double.

Apologies my mistake yes set DDNS to disabled.

On the portforward rule set it to your hostname at no-ip.org if allowed or your router ip address for external ip address.

Internal ip: hostname of no-ip? I cant set a password or username in port forward settings....so that wont work??
External ip has to be wan ip you mean?

Not asking you to set a username or password in the portforwarding settings that was for DDNS settings which i advised to disable.

Your WAN ip is your external ip address but it is dynamic so it will change with each re-boot of router or when switched on or off so you cannot use that. Just enter your ubee ip address.

i dont know exactly what you mean.
The modem is connected to the netgear through a lan cable.(same cable as to connect my laptop to the modem) its not connected wirelessy.
turning off DHCP on netgear makes my devices have trouble connecting to the netgear.
do you mean turning off wifi of the netgear and use the wifi/internet of the modem?

i get 2 different advices now? ^^

You will need to disable the DHCP server on the netgear.

The DHCP server starting address i want is from the Ubee modem please.

devices really get trouble connecting to the internet when DHCP is disabled.
when they are already connected it keeps working but connecting again creates problems. it connects the the router successfully but there is no internet connection available....when DHCP is off.

How to prevent this from happening?
