I think if you select new game, its lets you pick the chapters you've already completed. have you tried that? If that didnt work, here they are. Its all the chapters, be careful which one you load. It would suck if you spoiled anything.

I thought Portal 2 used Steam Cloud to store saved games.

I thought Steam Cloud was only for saving keyboard configurations etc. Not saved games which are usually kept within the Steam/Valve folder.

I've never had Steam save my games. Only ever had GFWL do that.

I've never had Steam save my games. Only ever had GFWL do that.

The Steam Cloud API allows your game to write and retrieve files for each user. Use it for personalized settings like keyboard, mouse, and gamepad configurations, multiplayer sprays, or even saved games.

Aahhh i see. Well i actually said that because i've never had it save a game for me because i disabled Steam Cloud in everything possible. It's been said to cause more problems than it's worth. Even Valve said that themselves at one point

I found some games it works well with. Others can be problematic (I/E FONV)
I just leave it enabled unless issues appear in a particular game.

True but Steam cloud is far from new tech. And i can't find the link anymore, it was actually one of the stickies on the Steam forums but it seems to have gone. But that was why i stopped using it a while back because it was causing conflicts with HL2.exe and someone from Valve posted about disabling Cloud. Which worked at the time.

Now it's probably been sorted by now but i still have no reason to use it myself as i always keep backups of my saved games and config files. I don't think i'll ever rely on Steam to save something i can quite easily do myself anyway. Afterall it's bad enough at losing my favourite CSS servers
