I'm a bit late on this thread but it seems the best place to ask since it is directly linked to the UAC.

Is it possible to disable or "record the answer" for a recuring application that ask you every single time you execute it?

Le me explain, I have a game that when started it disable the aero environment and maybe something else but I'm not aware of. Each time I start the application, A popup ask me if I agree to let the app modify my system. I do trust the application so I would like the answer to the question be always "YES".

How can I do that?

Thanks, it worked perfectly even though the process is quite complicated for the usual user. Would have been quite easier and a good point of amelioration if Microft would give us a way to "default" the answer for a specific application.

Thanks again.

You're most welcome.

Microsoft will not do that since it would pose a security risk to your system. Image the damage that could be done to your system if a program that you placed on a UAC exception list was hijacked by malware. Since it was on the exception list, the malware will now have full unchecked access of your computer as well without you ever knowing it since you no longer get a UAC prompt for it.

Well, you have a very good point!

And with the way things are done, even though the application gets hijacked it will still falls on the UAC since you created a task and did not actually modified the application itself, brilliant in a way I think ;o)
