Is it possible to use a blu ray disc so that I can copy or cut and past from it, essentially making it into a little drive. Basically, is it possible to have the blu ray disc function like a thumb? I recall that somthing like this was possible via the format option. Would I need to format the blu ray disc to ntfs or what not. If there is a way please share it. Thanks

I know what you are asking can be done with DVD+RW or DVD-RW discs and that there are Blu-Ray burner available but not sure about the discs for them or any software that would work. As for sharing, it would be the same as for CDs and DVDs, destination computers would have to have the same hardware and software. I only share discs that are the -R [CD or DVD] or +R [DVD only] type, really the only way to assure compatibility.

As shown at BestBuy, the Blu-Ray discs are rather costly especially considering that 4GB to 16GB USB Thumb/Flash drives are frequently on sale with 8GB usually less than $10.
