Hi guys, right now me and my friend is trying to fix his computer through team viewer. Were in KSA right now and his PC that were trying to fix is in the Philippines.

He has an 80g HD with windows 7 OS. Using AVAST for his anti virus protection.

The problem is the PC is running out of disc space. We deleted some files and gain a few gig free on HD for just a moment and when we refreshed the used space from HD become huge again.

We installed Malware bytes, were running a full scan right now and so far there is nothing detected.

I just want to know if there's a virus that can possibly multiply the used space in HD even if youre deleting some of your files.

thanks

Hello,

Use this program to see where the massive files are:
WinDirStat - Permalinks to downloads and other content

Do a disk cleanup to free some of the space. Check msconfig - startup tab for and strange startup processes.

There used to be a replicating .bat file years ago that would just copy itself over and over.

Hi dave,

Thanks for the quick response. I will try steps later because im currently in the office right now.

I want you to know that theres no hit when we did a full scan using malwarebytes, so I suspect its not a virus or something.

I'll update you later. Thanks again..
