It's been a while since my last photo so as a little reminder, I'm second from the left The others are the guys I went backpacking with.

I guess after almost 4 years on the Forum it's time to show myself. Pictures were taken November 14, 2012 at Lost Maples. Nighttime temperatures and rainfall in late summer / early autumn determines how brilliant the maple colors will be. Last year wasn't too good due to several years of drought and warmer than normal temps. Hiked a trail about 8 miles long that day. Found a solitary picnic table at the edge of a cliff and took a short siesta. I'm about 30 pounds lighter now. My right leg was amputated in May 2013 due to a bacterial infection. Still recuperating so I won't be doing any hiking this year.

Had a surprise date with two youngsters on Sunday night, they wanted to take what I had in my pockets and when my answer was no, they were a bit aggressive. In other words, I was mugged and robbed.

Pain killers do not work at the moment, again a sleepless night. Thought I show a detail of my "handsome" face (looking too awful now to show more of me):

I'm back driving big trucks again so I figured to post up a some resent pics of me loading a steel coil a few nights back.

Yes it was is in west pack.
The first boat I became qualified on. The USS Perch APSS-313.

richnrockville I didn't know you were a old smoke boat sailer or as many say pig boat sailer. The ladies in Japan called us sewer pipe sailors.
Anyway the diesel oil floating on top of the coffee does keep you regular. After the Perch was decommissioned I went to the USS Volador SS-490 another diesel boat More stories than I can remember or tell. Yes submarines are called boats in the US Navy. We also did things on surfaced also.

We sent in our Perch Raiders and UDT in several rubber boats with outboards and brought them back to the boat. Several villagers were in that group too. All the while this was going on we shelled over their heads with our 40's and also hit a VC ammo truck or dump because there was a hell of a secondary explosion after one shell hit. There were no prisoners that I know of. After we filled up the after deck with these guys and had all boats on board, we bagged ass out of there.[/FONT]​

Not me and yet it's me.

Cleaning my study, finding a lot of nostalgic mementos. Like these in an old wallet not opened in years, almost a year worth of monthly passes for local public transport in Rome from 2004-2005 and a "modern" library card to Public Library of Carrara, the marble town in Tuscany from 2001:

Our years in Rome and Tuscany were really happy for both of us, remembering those years still brings tears in my eyes.

My late Mother and Father and little me in Malaysia in 1958 or so. Dad was in the British Army so I got around a little. Apparently I even spoke Chinese as a 3 or 4 year old. Sadly I never kept that up.
