Even I cant seem to find my 1st post. It shows me posts from January 2009 whereas I joined in December 2008.

its possible some threads were cleaned out for space, im pretty sure my first post/thread was about moving files around as we could in vista, months later Brink made the disable Auto arrange, which did the trick

Problem has been an ongoing issue. I have never bother to try to fix it. It only happens to my desktop. It has now been occurring for well over 5 months.

It seems to always appear or show symptoms after my computer is left on for days. The symptom tends to appear around the third day or after. I will come back from work or some other place and i will click around to get the monitor to wake up. I don't make my computer go to hibernate mode or sleep(quite sure i don't make it go to sleep i think i have it set up to turn off the monitor after 15 minutes). The screen will be on just black. I see a flickering mouse cursor on the screen though. just blinking/flickering. Can't see icons or anything else. Only command that does work is CTRL+ALT+DELETE. Brings up that other menu/window screen. I can see it just fine no flickering or anything alike. As soon as i click on any of the options and that screen is gone it does the same once more.

My temporary solution so far has been holding down the power button and shutting it down.

There are more issues that also appear over time when my computer is left on for days.
I hope i am understandable, never been good at describing.

Anyone care to take a crack at it?

I consider myself very knowledgeable on computers so any information you guys need i think i should be able to provide it quick and fast

Buy a better video card?!? Thats a Nvidia GTX 470 I would say thats pretty good video card....

yup can run pretty much anything maxed out i lol'ed when i saw this

Thread Name: windows dvd maker problem

i keep trying to burn a movie of mine that i have off my hdd and they seem to be fine in the preview and no errors come up when burning but when i play the dvd it has no sound in my dvd player and even if i play the DVD on my pc still has no sound. only thing that has sound is the menu music anyways went through two DVDs thinking it was a bad burn but no luck please help i don't want to waste any DVDs that wont benefit me because of no sound any help is appreciated

p.s. yes the movie has sound when i don't burn it and play directly off the HDD

In addition to following Boohbahs tips I also encountered different search results by changing the sort by options in the drop down list with the "Thread Start Date" option giving me more accurate results to the day I joined. I also had to clear search preferences between each search and each search will only list a maximum of 350 of your posts.

Here’s my first post, from Oct. 2010, shortly after I joined. I didn't know much, but I could at least answer this question: whether the Search Box can still be accessed with the Classic Start Menu:

"The Search Pane is disabled by default. To enable it, go to Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features, Turn Windows Features on or off, Check Indexing Windows Search."
