Yeah Solar, it's always fun to do a bit of benchmarking, seems to be getting less people around on here that do it now.

No worries.
If you're interested there's quite often some sort of in house competition in the rog forums. No prize's just for fun stuff. Aslong as you have some Asus hardware you can play. The realbench was the first i entered and know i stand no chance at getting the results some do but its good to take part. Plus it gets some AMD entries in

I'm going to post the Validation of my core speed

Believe me all I don't have an answer why my core temp reads different it appears on Cpuz and HWinfo show it's not lying :sarc: just take it I guess

How ever the picture of the system matches up with core temp ?????

The room I am in is on the bottom side of the house downstairs so it is slightly cooler then outside

If I had this Rig outside right now I wouldn't break 4 ghz from the sheer sun power alone

Thank you. Had to bump the vcore offset up to 0.200, as it seems that with this CPU it is either defaulting on the low side at stock (somewhere around 1.25-1.3V); or the motherboard is reading it low. If it is the second then that is a first for me with an AMD CPU on an Asus motherboard, as all the others I have had in the past were read on the high side and had to set the vcore manually lower. My x4 955 for example I ran with a negative offset as with out it would run at 1.43V+, where is was totally stable at 1.38-1.39 overclocked to 4.0.

Also have my Kingston HyperX 1600 overclocked up to 1866 at the moment, and haven't run into any problems with it so far.

How did you get away from the Handbrake error ?

Raised the voltage for the CPU/iGPU a little bit. I know for a fact my OC is stable, tested with AIDA64 and Prime95 for 18 hours, and IBT. This program must be coded funky to throw that error on multiple machines....that's the only explanation I have for it.

It has to be that because I can't even finish it up with it making my heat rise and then freeze

also I got that handbrake error too I think it needs work and don't consider it a legit bench as of yet

I didn't have any heat problems while running the test.........it maxed out at 60*. The only problem I had was during the encoding, Handbrake would crash. I thought it was just the Intel HD 4000 graphics not having enough balls or whatever, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

A couple of people that had the handbrake issue said that they needed a tad more vcore on already stable systems. There's an update for it as soon as the Asus techies get time to upload it and judging by the time it took the to fix the forums(months) it will be a while. From what i've read though the update only addresses the visual aspect of it, ie the bloody red text.

You guys inspired me to do a bit of overclocking myself this morning.

All overclocks were tested for stability using Intel Burn Test which as you know is pretty harsh on the system.

Starting with my daily 4.6 OC right up to a **Don't try this at home Tj Max** 5ghz OC.
For the 4.9 and 5.0ghz OC's I needed to turn off Hyperthreading. Obviously much better cooling is required for them, but it was interesting try out.

You can also see the temp and voltage increases required for each speed.
