I would not go as far to say stable for sure but just as a test I tried to hit 4.3ghz and it did boot into windows. I only ran a few minutes of prime95 to see if it would crash immediately and it didn't. I also ran WEI and it didn't crash on that either. I normally only run this chip around 3.4 for everyday use as I don't have a need for higher(it will run stable 3.9 on stock voltage). Just testing! I'll give it a full prime run in the future at that speed.

How do you overclock your PC if you have an NVIDIA GForce GT 240 graphics card...? My PC is running at 2.60Ghz at present.

Thanks for any details and appologies if this has already been posted, I didn't fancy reading through 61 pages to find out and when I searched it didn't give any results. Also those downloads/links on first page are they for all PC's..?

Thanks ;)

Here is my OC. Everyday, all day. Always stable. I had a bigger OC in XP but I crash when in 7 so I stepped it down a notch. Was normally running at 4.2Ghz. It's all air cooled to.

Pentium D 930 Presler 3.0 @ 4.05Ghz @ 1.5v (1.63v Bios select)
6Gb of OCZ Reaper HPC DDR2 Dual-Channel running at 1080Mhz effective 5-5-5-15 timing @ 2.3v.
eVga 8800GTS SSC 640mb running stock. Had a terrible OC experience with it. Now have permanent artifacts at the top of my screen.

Going on 2 years strong. Don't die on me!

I used to have a P4 Prescott 3.0 Ghz boot to 4.3Ghz Windows XP ;o

For some reason, the OC doesnt show in CPUz. Think it has something to do with the auto clockdown. Well, its my first OC ever (BE Phenom ii X2 550) and got it stable at 3.6GHz.

The graphics card you're using shouldn't make any difference to overclocking your CPU... 'Overclocking a PC' essentially forces your processor to run faster. Unless you're using AMD's Fusion* tech (GPU directly on CPU) then the CPU speed shouldn't affect your GPU speed in any way at all.

----------------------------

* I should also mention that I don't know that much about AMD Fusion, only heard a few things about it... So I may even be wrong about that part of my comment.

AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.60 GHz

I've got a similar CPU to yours, mine is the 5400+ though (2.8GHz stock instead of 2.6GHz). AMD's generally overclock pretty decently and I've heard of the 5000+ Black Edition going as high as 3.1 or 3.2... But the BE has an unlocked multiplier, while the standard one doesn't, so you'll probably only be able to get about 2.8 to 2.9 out of it. And even that depends on the quality and number of RAM slots you're running. It can get pretty complex once you start taking all the little things into account.

To be honest though, I would suggest you ask on a forum that deals with PC hardware directly. You'll probably get a lot more help with more people who have burnt out CPUs trying to push the limits and see how fast they can go. No disrespect intended to the SevenForums, but there are just more overclocking enthusiasts at Overclock.net. Besides, if you want to avoid melting your CPU into the motherboard, it helps to listen to a few tips from someone who's melted a few CPUs...
picture.php

Another thing you might want to read up on is AMD OverDrive. If you're not too comfortable with changing BIOS settings, this would probably be a safer route for you to take. Hey we all start out somewhere right...

Hey thanks ZaLiTH for your help buddy. I've never touched the Bios in any PC before so it is a bit daunting because the last thing I want to do is melt the hardware. I have a back up PC which is a SamSung U350 Touchscreen All-In-One thats 4GB RAM but for some reason even though I paid over £1,200.00 for it I used it for about 2 weeks it crashed and was sent back for repair and it's been in the box since then.

I was thinking of selling it as "New" ;) then buying the hardware like motherboards, proccessor, heatsync, RAM, graphics etc with that money and I can also put money to that and build something far better than these PC's I have.

Has anyone ever used the SamSung U350 Touch Screen All-In-One PC...?
