Mobo As Rock Z68 X3 G3, 4,5 ghz with "offset mode" -0.035 with LLC lvl5, max vcore 1,26.
with Corsair H60, max temp core#2 ( i live in tropical country with non AC room - hot enough ).
And never BSOD when gaming - just smooth like butter

I'm going through hell with this ASRock Fatal1ity 990FX "professional" No boots, setting won't take, junk in general.

That is 1866MHz RAM, but the board won't run at that settings, it freezes resulting in a CMOS reset.

This weekend (after my homework is done - just in case...) I'm going to try and goose the FSB a little and see if I can push it a little higher. Unless my ASUS motherboard automatically bumped something those numbers are at stock voltage. Might need a little push there, too.

I should have added that I'm quite impressed at the scores some of you have achieved. Nice going!

yeah, you're right, and to reduce heat i place many fans but quiet ones.

2 fans 14cm in the front ( 800-1000 rpm ).
1 side fan 12 cm ( 800-1000 rpm ) with cone directly blows in to my vga hsf fins.
1 fan 12 cm placing in 5,2" drivebay ( 800-1000 rpm ) blows in.
1 fan 8 cm in hdd cage placing between my 2 hdd, directly blows in to my vga hsf fins.
1 fan 12 cm ( 800-1000 rpm ) on the upper of chasis blowing out
2 fan 12 cm ( 1200 rpm ) push and pull my Corsair H60
2 fan 4 cm ( @ 4000 rpm ) placing in the back of chasis right on my vga slots blowing out hot air from vga hsf fins
1 fan 8 cm ( 1000 rpm ) in behind chasis right on the psu to blows out heat comes from psu which only has 1 quiet fan 8 cm ( and now my psu case has an ambient temp ).
and 2 other vga stock fan.

By doing so, my temp inside the chasis stay ambient around 34C.
When gaming for hours with 4,5 Ghz, Max temp core #2 only 48C, and my vga temp max 72C at clock 900 and mem 1200 ( default 725/1000 ).

I bumped my FSB a little and gave the ol' multiplier the +1 treatment. Couple more MHz can't hurt...

profdlp .. nice fsb bump, but i'm sure you can still push the vcore down to around <1.3, you might start by one notch after another down till you find it stable with primw95 or IBT.

yes, in some cases like gaming ( especially cpu-bounded games, can shorten video editing time process and others, in number it will increase the figures/scores when benchmarking which indicates the higher score, the more powerful your pc is).

edit: In a simple way, from real market standpoint, it's obvious that the price range of a cpu, but not the only factor, determined by a default clock of the cpu itself.

There is a certain extra "snappiness" to everything, though. I'll be the first to admit that that could be the placebo effect in action. If I had a choice between keeping my current CPU with the O/C and giving up my SSD or going back to my Socket 1366 Core i7 920 (2.67 GHz) and keeping the SSD I would keep the SSD. The 2600K was only about $30 more than the regular (locked) 2600, so I went for it. Since the O/C was pretty much a matter of changing a few BIOS settings (and holding my breath for a few seconds the time I took things a bit too far and it wouldn't POST) I figured "Why not?".

I do get better grades in school and the chicks now dig me. That ought to count for something.

EDIT: What peaceful mentioned about gaming and video editing is quite true. I don't do a lot of either at the moment since I'm too busy with school.
