It's like 65c under load, 35-40c idle. ran AIDA64 for a few hours seems stable but had to include fans to blow air on my gtx560 sli setup because they were getting too hot under load in gaming (Nvidia surround).

Thanks Bill & Steve. Most ASRock boards have good reviews, even mine. Pfffsstt. I'm running memtest again, but I suspect it will be fine.
EDIT: Yeah memtest was passed but it shows wrong info. Do you all have the same issues?

My memtest runs pass, but show oddball info for some reason. RAM & CPU speed were both off under MEMtest, but Bios, and CPUZ report what its set at.

Yup, same here and Speccy show the right figures as well. Memtest must have a flaky crust.

Darkelk, nice overclock, have you tried lowering your Vcore a little? It could help with temps. And, my board is the same with memtest, all data is usually wrong and only certain versions will run at all.

Are these Voltages to low for the speed ?

I would like to know where a safe voltage would be im not trying to go above 1.4 but at the same time i keep getting freezes trying to run prime Im assuming not enough power to the chip ?

It's trial and error Tommy. Bump it by the smallest step you have in volts and test. The Bulldozer allegedly can take 2.0V, but you Wattage is hich for a 126W chip.

yea TDP is 211 but i don't think it really draws that much especially stock voltage at 1.27 and im running 4.1 Ghz you would think by increasing atleast to 1.35 it would have been stable i been trying different voltages all morning but hestitant to keep going up

I hate to tell someone to go to xxV and they fry something. I would think it would be safe up to at least 1.4 though. I have my PhenomIi x6 at 1.425 at the moment. Just keep an eye on your temps.

Belive it or not with the Antec 620 I have yet to hit over 30 c from Overclocking and bringing up voltages

I read there are three versions of the 8120-30p chip unfortunatly i got the Sh***y one because like you mentioned i might need to hit that 1.4 mark to keep a good stable 4.3 Ghz clock

That's a very good temp. You can try using Intel Burn Test, it is a lot faster than Prime95 and does a good job of stressing the CPU and some RAM too.

They've linked to overclock.net before too.
Afterthought, can you set your HT link freq? If so keep it in the 2000MHz ballpark.

Well well well ...... Look at me now but..... 2 cores stopped working after 5 minutes but continued to run at 1.41 v hmmmm 4.4 Ghz I can live with that Im still worried 2 cores stopped

Have any suggestions of what i should do ? Back down or throw a little more into the pot I did have it at 4.5 but Bsod :huh:

I have a 6core Phenom too and it used to drop a couple of cores with Prime. That is to allow more power to the CPU and let it continue at full speed.

But I think you should have the option somewhere in your BIOS to disable throttling and enable all 8 cores?

I did that already actually the speed boost i disabled it

Also i uped the voltage to 1.42 but crashed at 4.5 Ghz I think my sweet spot is 4.4 Ghz on 1.41 watts so i should bring the wattage a tad lower and i'll be fine maybe in the future ill try again to reach 4.5 but I have to say been a good day so far 4.4 from 3.1 Ghz isn't a bad gain at all

Also running prime for 10 mins on 1.42 my temps got to 51c didnt go any higher after that so i think this is good what are your thoughts ?

Sounds like it's good to me. 51C is not overheating it. Your max temp is, what, about 62-65? A 1.1GHz gain ain't bad at all!
Don't worry about the two cores dropping understress. Those stress tests do more that one can ever do in day-to-day use.

my TJ max is 90c

Even though i had 39-40c to spare id rather not push it

Im sure ill get the guts to go higher again overall im happy just my SSD is disapointing me now it has dropped in the WEI but yet again WEI doesnt matter but i love looking good while bragging lol remember it's not showing off if it looks good hahaha

Tommy, on my Intel rig I can run IBT at Max all day long, but BSOD on prime sometimes. I believe it is Vdroop. If you watch your voltage in CPUz during the tests, you will see (or I do) that the Vcore is higher than while running IBT than when running prime. So, with it higher in IBT, when it drops down it's OK, but with it lower running Prime and drops, it can BSOD or a couple of cores will throttle because of not enough vcore. That's my analogy anyway. I don't know what you have or have not done, but I always on mine and everyone elses that asks set everything at default, completely stock, and run every stress test I can find. I run IBT, Prime, Memtest, Furmark and Heaven. You have to be sure you are absolutely stable at stock before you start overclocking. If you are not stable at stock, any overclock is going to fail.Also remember that you are running new technology. Many of the utilities like real temp, core temp, HW Monitor, memtest and such have not caught up with the new tech. So, don't take their values as absolute, just guidelines. Sandy Bridge has been out a lot longer than Bulldozer. many of the utilities have not caught up with Sandy Bridge yet. My personal opinion is if I use a test and see a value that I know is not correct, I don't put a lot of value in other readings I get. For example, HW Monitor shows my +12V at 7.6V. I know that is wrong because I can boot my machine. So, if I know it is not reading that value right, why should I believe that any of the other values it shows are correct? So, my opinion is that these are the only utilities we have, so I use them, but I will not get close to max with them because I don't completely trust them.
