Here's my overclock with the i5 750 167x20 plus turbo and all power saving enabled, volts @ 1.168v memory is at 1336mhz with 1.65v. I am using the Zalman Shenzhen hp-92f-02a. Maximum temperatures are in the 60C's.

here's me trying to brick my new toy.

i've got a nice 33% clock on this baby, which is kind of my favourite number for overclocking. i feel i can push it more, but i'm happy at this speed thank you very much.

there's something wrong with the temp readings - you'll notice a couple of spikes at 70C - which i'm sure is more like the correct temperature. the machine didn't feel overly hot in my hands during testing, the fan was doing a good job.

20 minutes of everest stress-test doesn't really prove much, so i'm off to play some games and see how i get on! yippee!

My motherboard recently gave out so I was able to get a new one.. And now I'm able to overclock my Q6600!

That's a pretty good OC for that Q6600. I could only get to 2.9GHz on my B3 revision. Your system specs says you have an Asus MB? What CPU Cooler are you using?

I'm running a Rosewill RCX-Z775-SL 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Haha I probably could but.. I wanted sort of a conservative tune. I don't think a little more would make much of a difference performance wise.

Heres my overclock ,i can get to 4ghz easy but needs quite alot extra volts and i saw no real gain when encoding / gaming
and considering i can get my cpu to 3.8 ghz on stock volts i decided to stick with that clock speed

This was a stability test using amd overdrive .I ran it for 20 minutes the cpu doesnt really get hotter than that, unless, im playing a demanding game when both gpus are under full load even then it never goes over 50 not bad seen as the low rpm fans on the radiater

Thats not a stress test. Run Prime95 for about 12 hours, and you have stress tested it.

In my opinion putting you're cpu under stress for 12 hours is just retarded .
When you overclock you're gpu would you leave FurMark running for 12 hours aswell?

Whether you agree or not, that is the standard practice/procedure for stress testing an overclocked computer

Perhaps you should visit some overclcking sites for tips on stress testing overclocked systems? You would see some recommend more.

Yes, i know all about it being the norm
ive got my own tests that prove my cpu is stable
occt for an hour / crysis / gta 4 / Re-encode 10 gb file

i just dont need to run prime for 12 hours

when i have used prime ive only ever used it for 1 hour

I have to agree, it depends on how you run your system. If you’re running it very hard all day long you should run tests longer.

There are opinions on both extremes on the overclocking sites, after reading these and other information about long term effects of high temps and CPU degradation I've backed off my testing times.

Some say you should always disable EIST or stepping, I can't understand why you wouldn't take advantage of this technology, idling and running cooler is better, IMHO.
