I thought it would be a good idea that people post their Windows 7 compatible security arsenal so others can get a good idea of what is well-liked on the forum.
I currently use Avira Free, Windows firewall, PeerBlock
& Firefox w/ AdBlock Plus & Better Privacy
D-Link router with hardware firewall
Windows Firewall
Avast Free Antivirus Beta2
Microsoft Security Essentials
Malwarebytes
UAC level turned all the way up
DEP turned on for everything
Common sense

well i just started testing norton 360 in hopes that i could cut down on the time spent mainting a home brewed suite. so far it's been decent for the most part but it occasionally nags me about setting up various features i really dont want to mess with. probably won't be keeping it but it works for now. personally i find that not letting everyone else play on my computer and being smart about my online activities is my strongest defense against virus infection.

it's not as bad as previous versions about hogging resources but then again the biggest pain with norton has always been trying to remove it which may at the best of times has required a human sacrifice. so we'll see how that goes when i decide to drop it.

i know but norton seemed to be getting good reviews for the rc so i thought i'd give it a shot. somedays it's fine and just sits there doing what it should, other days it decideds to pester the hell out of me. it really doesnt seem to like the opera browser but then again neither do i so i cant fault it for that. the only other thing that bothers me is a bathroom break seems to be long enough to determine it's idle and should do a system scan.
