Power cutting out after launching a game

Hey guys,

For past few weeks when I have been playing world of tanks my computer would shutoff like someone pull the plug. I thought it was my apartment building simply having brown outs, because this would happen pretty randomly.

As of yesterday when ever I launch a game it happens shortly after I load the level. Which made me think its a gpu error. I updated my gpu drivers and it is still happening. I only received the blue screen of death once. 90% of the time the computer would recent like it had sudden power loss.

Could you guys please take a look at my logs and tell me what is causing me to lose stability all of a sudden?

Hello Nordom.

Uninstall BitDefender.
Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download and install those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Free up the startup.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept the restart.
Disable Driver Verifier. (Follow the Option two)
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Does it change anything there?

I disabled the driver verifier, but it didn't change anything.

As the far as the antivirius/malware stuff goes it doesn't really matter because I want as far to install a clean version of win7 on a new drive, because my old drive was acting strangely... But that was a different issue that I have solved.

As for the random crashing, I still don't know what is causing it. It maybe hardware related but I don't know. Basically my system is 100% stable when at desktop. As soon as I load a 3d program it seems to restart the pc after a little while. It seems if the gpu is cold it can run for maybe 5-7 minutes before causing the restart. However if the pc has been on a while it seems to crash almost immediately after loading a level.

I haven't changed any of my 3d settings, merely been using the set up that I have used for the past year that was always 100% stable before.

Basically I haven't changed any major settings recently, this 3d game pc rest just started to happen. As for the clean windows install. I figured it was some corrupt system file some where or something, but obviously not the case.

If you guys could help me out I would be very grateful.

I told you to uninstall BitDefender on certain reason.

Sounds like your gpu is overheating, this will cause immediate shutdown/blank screen, install temperature monitoring software and/or check bios for temps
May be worth opening case and checking/cleaning fans
