Solved Power driver state failure -Blue Screen ERROR in DELL XPS i5.

That is the simplest one.

1. Open Nvidia control panel.
2. Click on "Manage 3D settings".
3. Click on the button below "Preferred Graphics Processor"
4. Change it to "Integrated graphics"from the drop down menu.
5. Apply it.

Now restart the computer.

so far i didnt get BSOD arc..!

but i m facing this issue wen ever ( i switch on n use in morning time ) CHROME FREEZES and not appear not responding ..Then everything freeze. so i need to shutdown(longpower button press) .. then if i try to go by normal window same appear (quite few time ) so i use window safe mode for a while and then restart and use the normal window startup After that chrome wouldnt freeze and work well...Daily same issue appearing wy is it soo ??? hw to resolve this one ???..

I am guessing that the freeze is being caused by Hardware Acceleration. Note that I said I am "guessing".... I have no way to say it with a degree of certainty.

I would suggest you to disable Hardware Acceleration in Chrome.

1. Open Chrome. Click on the "Customize and Control Google Chrome" button.

2. It will open a drop down menu. Click on "Settings" in it.

3. Settings will open in a new tab. Scroll down to the bottom of it. Click on "Show Advanced Settings".

4. It will give you more space to scroll down. Scroll Down to the Bottom Again. Uncheck this box.

5. Now restart Chrome. It will start now with Hardware Acceleration disabled.

To delete the search and download history, Tools > Clear Browsing Data.

But, the best way to deal with this issue is to dump the Junk Crhome Spyware.

It should not be. Attempt to disable Hardware Acceleration should not cause a restart automatically; though a restart is needed to complete the process. You must be doing something wrong there.

I would say you use any other browser than chrome.

For performance and stability, the best browser is Waterfox.
For speed, the best browser is MxNitro.

Why to use Chrome .... when it is a spyware class program?

now i installed maxthon tanx for suggestion..!

i have a random guess(m not sure) that BSOD is not resolved fully.. so i repeated the process as u posted before (if BSOD occur again i will send u the dump file to u ) the reason wy i said is similarly wen the BSOD occur before (before yesterday) couple of times it do restart automatically wit out blue screen .. so i il watch it over and let u know

Wait and observe as long as you want; but dont do anything abrupt that is out of my suggestions without asking here. Thay may cause it worse rather than any good.

If you get any further BSOD, report it accordingly.

Madhumitha, Please right click an empty spot on the desktop and select Nivdia control Panel, once you get there select 3D settings, at the top there should be a global setting. In the global setting select the on board graphics as the primary graphics adapter. If you continue to have problems, it should be when using a particular application. You can go back to the control panel, select that application and set the primary graphics adapter to on board graphics. I hope this helps. Your computer should use the primary graphics adapter for everything, which is what you want if you value battery life. The only time it should try to use the dedicated Nvidia card would be in graphics intensive applications such as games or maybe watching videos. Select those programs and make the primary adapter the on board and not the Nvidia. That will stop it from switching between the 2 adapters which is what is causing your problems.

Madhumitha, I have mine set up to use the Nvidia card always instead of integrated graphics. Please set yours to say integrated graphics where mine says Nvidia.

essenbe . do check both the image is it corrrect??? i did this last time too after that too i had BSOD (wic just shut down n off) ... i re did by selecting it and clicked applied now...

you mentioned "If you continue to have problems, it should be when using a particular application".how to find out what application causing the problem. The online time when i use browser the system freezes and then restart automatically. so should i set those application as integrated grated graphics??

To watch videos(online/offiline) i should change to nvidia again ?? or integrated graphic is enough??

The integrated graphics that you have is more than enough for anything other than some very latest games.

I wonder how any why the dedicated card is still playing a role in a BSOD, other than the user enabled it back for some reason.

Any idea about it?

It shouldn't. I know after I set mine up, every once in a while, I noticed it using the wron graphics adapter. I kad to go to programs and select that program and specify the correct primary graphics adapter. but those settings should take care of 95% of the programs.
