Hi there!

I tried the search but nothing similar came up.

I'm looking for an option to expand the contextmenu of the power (battery) tray icon. I hate that there are only two energyoptions available at once and I want the icon to show all three of them.

Is it possible?

Thanks

I just made an account to ask the same thing! This is so frustrating, what were they thinking? It barely takes any space to have 3, and it isn't confusing at all!

  1. Right-Click on the clock display in the lower right corner
  2. Choose "Customize notification icon's"
  3. At the bottom there is a blue hyperlink called "Turn systems icon on/off", click it
  4. Here you can turn on/off the power icon
The icon is greyed out if you are on a desktop or docked. This is according to a tutorial on windows7forums not changeable

However, if you like to change powerplans with one click, I installed the PowerIndicator Gadget.

hope this helps. To be honest, the only reason why I wanted this icon when I am on a desktop is to change powerplans :-)

In Windows Vista when you click the power icon you have 3 plan options, Power Saver, Balanced, High Performance. Windows Windows 7 there is only 2 options - Balanced and the last power plan used other than balanced. It is annoying if I want to switch from power saver to high performance or vice versa. Does anyone know how to display all 3 radio buttons at once?

Thanks for the gadget but I'd rather switch with the power icon.
I really don't understand why they limited it to two options. They didnt limit jumplists, startmenu entries to two either ...

Sorry, I unfortunately thought you were missing the "power saver" option in the settings. For your issue please see the link below. It has already been mentioned a few times.

However, if I'd be a coder I would not be very enthusiastic in programming this option back in if I read the pathetic comments in the link below. They should rather keep cool and vote for it.

All power plans in tray jumplist - Windows 7 Taskforce

Cheers
